This is a sculpture done by Anatsui, an artist born in Ghana who has lived most of his life in Nigeria. He takes small strips of metal from bottle tops, flattens them and then joins them together with copper wire to create textile-like pieces of art. The pattern represented in these sculptures are like that of kente clothe, which is not only beautiful, but hold symbolic meanings as well.
