With so many beautiful things in the world there is so much to love and obsess over. For now, it is chandeliers. Today I wandered a few showrooms and came across a chandelier, and then a few more, then I almost bought one, and now I can’t stop thinking about how I must have one. As of now, the plan is to get one for myself in September as a birthday present to me.
For those of you who think that chandeliers only resemble femininity and should remain in palaces, I think you’re quite wrong. If you are not striving for a strong feminine look, then you need to strike a balance between feminine and masculine pieces, a glass chandelier being feminine and a black leather armchair being masculine. It’s like pink, you can have pink in a room, without it screaming “pretty princess.”

If you have pretty dishes (and love them like I do) you probably don’t wish to hide them away in a cabinet. Solution? Open shelving. It adds more dimension and interest to a room, just make sure you don’t clutter the shelves.

Headboard: another pretty thing to spend money on! Its’ not just their beauty that makes them necessary though. A headboard ground the room, and creates a focal point. If you choose a tall headboard it also help add height to the room. When you don’t have a headboard it looks like your bed is missing something, unless you play eye tricks with lots of pillows. But apart from visual benefits, they are functional as they provide a comfy back rest for reading in bed; a pillow just isn’t the same.

There is something about this I really like, but I don’t exactly know the words for it; I think it’s strangeness and expressionless face just intrigues. As some of you may know by now, I like things that make you stop and look and this certainly does.
Apart from the art, I also love the raw wood floors and the use of indigo (one of my favorite colors).
